What’s the most fun way to exercise?
Hmmmm, When living with chronic knee and back pain, exercise may seem daunting and painful. However, there are still fun and low-impact ways to stay active and improve overall health.
Roller skating and hiking used to be fun and my favorite way to exercise, I lived at the Rollercade and hiking was a great way to get into with nature.
Joint pain has taken the roller skating away. But I can do other things. Instead of a good hike that used to be for hours I can do mini hikes.
Swimming or water aerobics are great options as the buoyancy of the water reduces stress on the joints.
Yoga and Pilates can improve strength and flexibility while being gentle on the body.
Cycling on a stationary bike or outdoors with proper form and equipment can also be a fun way to get moving without putting too much pressure on the knees and back.
It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any exercise routine and to listen to your body’s limits.
Exercising with a friend can be a great way to stay motivated and make workouts more enjoyable. Having someone to talk to and share the experience with can make the time fly by. However, exercising alone can also be a fun and rewarding experience. It can be a chance to clear the head, focus on personal goals, and enjoy some much-needed alone time. Whether it’s going for a run, practicing yoga, or lifting weights, exercising solo can be a way to recharge and boost mental health. Ultimately, the most important thing is finding a routine that works for you, whether that includes a workout buddy or not.
