About Me
Hello! I’m Deb, and welcome to Joint Purpose—a space rooted in faith, resilience, and the belief that even in seasons of pain, purpose can still grow.
This blog began in 2016 under the name Chronically Grateful Me, created during a time when I was navigating life-changing diagnoses and searching for a new direction. In 2015, while medically disabled and unsure of what my future would look like, I poured myself into learning—taking classes, exploring new paths, and slowly rebuilding my sense of purpose. That journey led me to earn an associate degree and become an ordained minister in Ohio in 2017.
I don’t preach in a church, and I don’t pretend to have everything figured out. I’m a work in progress, continually seeking God’s plan for my life. My ministry is simple and heart-led: I share the Word, pray with others, and help people understand the Bible through stories, blog posts, and conversations.
In 2022, I began working part‑time remotely from home, which has allowed me to continue writing, advocating, and supporting others while managing my own health needs.
I also serve as an Arthritis Foundation Connect Group Volunteer and the East Region Lead, helping support individuals and caregivers navigating arthritis and related conditions. If you’re looking for community, I encourage you to explore the Connect Groups. And if you ever feel overwhelmed or need guidance, the Arthritis Foundation Helpline is available at 800‑283‑7800.
You can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms—but blogging remains my favorite place to connect, reflect, and share.
I love volunteering but we all know that doesn’t pay the bills.
If you’re interested in collaborating, hiring me for freelance writing, or having me contribute an article, please reach out through the messaging or contact page on this blog. I’ll be happy to provide details, availability, and pricing.
