🚌 BEEPP BEEP BACK-TO-SCHOOL REMINDER: SCHOOL BUS SAFETY MATTERS
School is back in session, which means our roads are once again filled with school buses, children walking to school, kids riding bikes and e-bikes, and parents dropping children off.
Please slow down and pay attention.
When a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, STOP. Do not try to sneak around it because you’re running late or don’t want to wait.
A child may be crossing the street.
Those few seconds you think you’re saving are never worth a child’s life.
And when you’re driving through a school zone, obey the posted speed limit. Watch the crosswalks. Put the phone down. Expect children to do unexpected things.
If you’re late for work, leave earlier tomorrow.
If you’re late for an appointment, you’re late.
Nothing on your schedule is more important than getting our children to school safely.
Parents are trusting the rest of us to watch out for their children when they step onto that bus, sidewalk, bike path, or crosswalk.
This back-to-school season, please remember:
Slow down. Stop for school buses. Pay attention. Protect our kids. ❤️🚌
